Meet Ruth Courtis
Hi, I am Ruth. I was born in Guntur, a small quiet town in Andhra Pradesh, India. I completed BSc in Microbiology, Biochemistry, and Food, Nutrition & Dietetics in Andhra Christian College, Guntur and then continued my studies doing MSc in Medical Biochemistry in one of the prestigious medical colleges in India, Christian Medical College, Vellore. I have done research analyzing the nutritional composition of various foods in Nutritional Biochemistry, and also working in a medical institution in Clinical Biochemistry. I worked as a lecturer for 4 years, teaching Biochemistry and Food & Nutrition to BSc Biochemistry and Nursing students. I am now working towards doing further research in Nutritional Biochemistry. I was always interested in fresh, healthy and nutritious foods, nutrition, organic, unprocessed foods free from preservatives, and natural ways to obtain optimal nutrition and health. I now live with my husband, Peter, and two lovely young boys, Matthew (6) and Jeremy (4), in Victoria, Australia. I write informative and educative articles on foods, nutrients, nutrition, diet, etc., aimed at educating and encouraging people to make healthy informed choices about food, and eating healthy. I have been working here at tried.Tasted.Served website & Raw, the Art of Living Blog... behind the screens for some time now working on the Raw Food Resource Raw Food Articles and providing nutritional information for a couple of other e-books. I will be writing regularly now in ‘Ask Our Nutritionist’ blog, starting from January 2009, on various topics of foods, nutrition, balanced diet, and overall health. So, if you have any specific questions or need advice in the above topics or any other topics related to these topics, please feel free to send your questions and comments to us or me... While everyone with a bit of life experience in foods and uncooking can give general advice regarding foods, uncooking and eating healthy, only someone with an in depth knowledge, acquired by years of studying and researching, can give you sound advice and guide you towards choosing healthy foods that provide optimal nutrition and overall health. Eat healthy and live healthy, Ruth Courtis. TTS Nutritionist
