Winter Care Tips

Winter Care for a Beautiful You

Winter is approaching and we will cover ourselves with all the latest fashionable attires and accessories like belts, boots, hats and so on, that make winter season pleasant and mesmerizing. Getting snuggled in quilts, cloaked in lots of pullovers and all other cozy thoughts make winters a most awaited season. But the one who bears the spell of winter chills, is our body. However, be ready this winter with the tools of natural home remedies that will keep your body healthy and nurtured.

Whatever we are eating is reflected by our body and skin, so it is advisable to eat a highly nutritious diet. Fruits and vegetables provide our body with all the essential nutrients that revitalize and rejuvenate us from within. To keep your body moisturised it is best to drink as much water as you can and to keep the skin texture soft and glistening add olive oil and primrose syrup to your diet. In addition to the recommendations stated above here are some tips that can work wonders.

  • Say bye to all those expensive soaps and face washes, instead use paste of green gram powder to clean your face. This works great to make your skin supple and soft.
  • Coconut oil is a well known natural moisturizer that keeps chaps and dryness away. So apply this natural moisturizer on your body and hair before bathing and then take a wash.
  • Butter (coconut, chocolate) is a great remedy to replenish the softness and suppleness of chapped skin. It can be used as a shield for our lips.
  • Tomato is great for exfoliating the skin, so make a tomato cleansing lotion at home by adding 5-10 drops of lime juice in one tsp of tomato juice. Apply on face and neck and wash after 15 minutes to get that glowing skin.
  • Toning skin is as important as bathing regularly, so take 1/8 cup of carrot juice, 1/4 cup of cucumber juice and 1/4 cup infusion of chamomile. Blend them together and freeze them to make cubes. Apply regularly.
  • To get rid of the dead cells that accumulate on the outer layer of your skin, make a natural scrubber at home. Take 1/4 cup of granulated sugar, 1 cucumber and a fresh chopped tomato. Mix them well and apply on the face using finger tips and, gently massage for 10-15 minutes. Then rinse with water and this way get the beautiful glowing skin free from the flaws of dead cells.
  • Take one mashed banana, honey and sandalwood powder and mix them well to get a thick paste. This works wonders to get your skin glistening and soft.

Skin care is another important thing that should be added in the body care regime. The 4 steps, cleansing, toning, moisturizing and scrubbing are essential self-care steps. Howerever, if you don't have the time to make your own beauty concoctions and don't mind spending the money, there are different varieties of organic products available on the market that can be used according to your skin type to detoxify harmful chemicals from the skin.
