People Live Longer But Are They Really Living?

There is no doubt that people are living longer. The life expectancy of the average human being has been increased because of all of the machines and medical breakthroughs that keep people alive. It was just 2002 when the world population was estimated to be around 6.7 billion. We now know that that population is probably closer to 7 billion and is expected to increase to 9 billion by the year 2042. The number of people being born each day far exceeds the number of people passing away each day. This trend is going to continue as long as medical breakthroughs that increase the length of a person's life keep coming about.

This isn't saying that it isn't a great thing that individuals can live longer than what their ancestors did, but how is the quality of their life? Is the quality worth the quantity that they’re being given? If a person is not living, then why is it they need more years added onto a life that is not enjoyable? A lot of times this is because they’re being kept alive with medicines and machines that do nothing for their physical ailments. These medications and machines simply help keep the insides of them functioning, which may not always make them feel good enough to do the things they want to do. However, an individual can improve the quality of their life by eating right. Physical activity may be out of the question, but their diet can make an incredible difference.

Raw Foods and Longevity

Eating raw foods to achieve natural longevity is like a natural form of hygiene. This is because there are enzymes within raw foods that the body needs to function. It is these enzymes that prevent chronic disease, therefore naturally providing the human being with a longer lifespan. Because enzymes are what make life possible, it is important to make sure those enzymes exist in the right levels inside of the body. Even a person who has been sick for a while can benefit from eating raw foods because they can then experience equilibrium of those enzymes. A person can have all of the vitamins and minerals that they need, but not having those enzymes can result in an imbalance within the body.

This is an imbalance that no one really needs because it is these enzymes that slows down the aging process. If you've ever wondered why some people look ten to twenty years older than what they are, it is because they do not eat right, they do not exercise, and they lead lifestyles that the human body is not designed to live. Many also eat foods that they are not meant to eat. Our ancestors ate natural foods because they did not have deep fryers and many of the heavy preservatives that are used today. All they had was the land and their animals. They harvested raw foods from their lands and that is what they lived on. We always wonder if certain diseases existed. There has been evidence that certain diseases did exist, but throughout recorded history there has been an increase in the different types of cancers and other diseases that have a relation to the types of foods being taken in. Part of the issue is not receiving proper nutrition.

It is through consuming raw foods such as sprouts, sprouted beans, nuts, fruits, vegetable, and sprouted grains that many individuals look younger, feel younger, and act younger. The evidence is very obvious.

Using Raw Foods to Promote Longevity

Many diet programs incorporate raw foods into the plan. When many stick to a raw food diet, they find that certain things occur: They notice a change in their complexion, they feel more energized in the mornings and after meals, and their body functions much better since it has the nutrients and the enzymes that it needs to function. Those are all recipes for longevity. If a person is on medication or they rely on a device to sustain their life, incorporating raw foods into their diet can make their longevity more enjoyable.

Take a person with diabetes, for instance. By incorporating raw foods into their diet, they are able to lead a relatively normal life. They are given insulin and other medications to regulate their blood sugar, but altering their diet to a raw food diet is going to help them achieve the optimum results and relieve the worries that they’re diabetes is going to harm them even more and in some cases raw food has shown to reverse this condition all together.

Summary

The quality versus quantity debate has been going on for quite some time because what kind of quality does a life have when machines and medication are keeping them alive? By taking a proactive approach and eating foods that are natural, that longevity can become more than just life on machines and medication. A person can simply feel better, which does a lot for the quality aspect of their life.
