Meet
Megge Fitz-Randolph - A Shiitake Blog Muse
I am a poet, writer, and teacher of college writing and poetry. My interest in fairy tales, myth and dreams began in childhood and has developed into a longstanding interest in the works of Carl Jung and other archetypal psychologists. I am very interested in dream analysis and though I am still a neophyte at this, I am interested in understanding what the dream world has to teach us about ourselves. It is always a surprise and never quite what one anticipates. Writing is how I keep myself honest, how I learn, how I come to see my inner self. I always know more after I've finished a piece of writing that when I set out. I am currently at work on a book that combines poetry, myth and my own understanding of archetype and the collective unconscious. In the not so distance future, I hope to finally publish my book of poems. Currently, I am a Contributing Writer for the online magazine Suite 101where I have published numerous articles on many topics but mostly concerning some aspect of Jung, fairy tales and myth. My poems have appeared in many literary journals and magazines. I am happy to be blogging here at Shiitake and look forward to an ongoing dialogue on story, dreams, myth and consciousness. These are heady topics meaning different things to each of us. Here might be a place to share our various thoughts on these things.
