Did you know that it all starts at the grocery store!

The key to healthy eating is healthy shopping.

You are what you eat you eat what you shop for!

Here are the best shopping tips you could ever follow!
don't just read them, do them!

1. Worried about Money?

Buy in bulk. It will make a difference.

Don't worry about wasting food! Trust me you will eat it.

It will inspire you to become a creative Chef by making tantalizing recipes that you wouldn't have thought of otherwise. After buying a 2 boxes of apples I was chopping away making apple cabbage salad, apple cereal with raisins, etc. I made it a point and a challenge to come up with something new recipes everyday. I eventually ran out and went to buy a 3rd box!

2. Picked the Wrong Fruit!

All day you are thinking about that orange, you buy one and start peeling it under the sun-light, your mouth is watering as you take a section into your mouth, water is gushing…but it tastes like Nothing! Arg! So disappointing. Don't let this happen again. Follow some simple rules.

Do it yourself ! Don't let anyone do it for you.

Build a feel for it. The more you choose your own fruits and vegetables with that intention behind it the better you will get at it.

Buy organic. I can't stress this point enough.

3. Has the Grocerystore Turned into Temptation Island? Be Strategic!

Don't go to the grocery store on an empty stomach.

Go in by the door that leads you to the fruit and vegetable section first. This is a tip that our friend Jane taught us and it really works.Ôø‡Ôø‡

Make a list and stick to it, a quick in and out is what you want.

Go to a farmer's market if you can where they sell mostly fruits and vegetables …only good temptations!

4. Menu Planning! Yup! Sounds Boring but it Really isn't. It will Save You.

Saves time by not wondering aimlessly in the grocery store and thinking about your meals everyday.

Saves money because you will not buy on impulse and leave the food you bought rotting in the fridge.

You will look forward to your meals. I often hear myself say“ Can't wait to eat that squash, tomato, basil and pine nut pasta on Wednesday”

If you have run out of inspiration for making quick, easy, delicious healthy meals check out our book. You will find something to satisfy you every day of the week.

5. Buy Locally and in Season.

Shipping and transportation costs add to the price of your food.

Help mother earth feed you the way she intended and contribute to a cleaner planet by reducing the amount of fuel used to ship food!

Order an organic fruit and vegetable basket that will come directly to you door. You can't get more local than that! Cost and time effective too.

6. Find out when the fresh goods arrive!

Fruits and vegetables can go bad quickly so get them as fresh as possible.

Be savvy and find out for yourself or ask the cashier about when they re-stock their fruits and vegetables.

It will save you from wasting.

7. Bring a Backpack or a Cloth Bag.

Save tons of plastic!
